UPDATE: Statement by AIANI on the Return of Tal Shoham We are greatly relieved to have learned of Tal Shoham's return. The time of anxious waiting is finally over! On July 10th of last year, Tal's sister-in-law, Shaked Haran, visited Innsbruck and delivered a moving lecture on the situation of the hostages and their families from a human rights perspective. Tal's chair in the room had to remain empty at that time – yet in the hearts of those present, he and his family have since taken a permanent place. Despite the sorrow over the recent events, this day is therefore a happy one for the many Innsbruck friends of the Shoham family. We wholeheartedly wish Tal and all other family members all the best for the coming days and weeks! Shaked Haran in Innsbruck: When the law fails On Wednesday, July 10, the Israeli lawyer Shaked Haran visited the University of Innsbruck. As part of a lecture organized by the Austria Israel Academic Network Innsbruck AIANI, she reported on the fate of the Israeli hostages and, in particular, her brother-in-law Tal Shoham, who has been held in the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023.
