The seven international members of ADSI’s scientific board of advisors met in Innsbruck to attend the signing of the cooperation by University of Innsbruck Rektor Tilmann Märk and Prof. Mirelman.
Following the visit of Prof. Mirelman from the Weizmann Institute of Science and Berta Strulovici from the Israel National Center for Personalized Medicine to the University of Innsbruck and the Austrian Drug Screening Institute (ADSI) in January 2014, the two institutions signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” on May 22, 2014 in Innsbruck to further formalize and promote the scientific cooperation. The partnership was initiated by the heads of the Center for Chemistry and Biomedicine (CCB), Prof. Günther Bonn and Prof. Lukas Huber. The goal of the new cooperation will be to exchange knowledge and to work on joint projects in the field of biochemistry and the development of new pharmaceutical treatments to fight diseases like cancer or Alzheimer. The Weizmann Institute of Science is one of the leading research and educational institutions in the fields of medicine, natural sciences and engineering worldwide. Prof. Oren Kaplan, Dean of the School of Business Administration of the College of Management Academic Studies (COMAS) in Rishon Lezion and Dr. Dafna Kariv, Chair of the Department of Strategy entrepreneurship and Director of the Center of Entrepreneurship at COMAS, visited the University of Innsbruck on May 20, 2014 to discuss with Rektor Märk, Vice Rektor Psenner and Prof. Hajnal future possibilities for student and faculty exchange (see picture). Both sides agreed to explore future cooperation.
